About The Artwork

This painting is inspired by a fortress-like geological formation called Mesa de las Viejas (Mesa of the Elders) that overlooks the Rio Chama Valley in Abiquiu, New Mexico. It is one of the most gorgeous spots in the United States and where my wife and I spend a a great deal of time camping. The light and color explains why Georgia O'Keeffe was so entranced to give up her life in New York City and move to Abiquiu. Truly God's Country.
