About The Artwork
I cannot cease to be amazed by the Acropolis in Athens, which stands on its sacred rock in the middle of a busy bussling city. That's why I created this piece, trying to capture its essence in an abstract way, and giving the impression of the rhythm of the seasons and of time as it passes by, while this ancient architectural wonder stands stoically. This is a contemporary piece, on stretched canvas, which looks especially good on a warm grey wall. It has been created with a mix of abstract painting techniques and printing techniques. I print with a variety of linocut designs, all of which I have etched myself, and which have been inspired by different motifs, including ancient plant motifs. I combine these prints with painting technques, creating layers.
