About The Artwork
This artwork is a tribute to a photographer friend, Carlos Bertran who passed away years ago and I remember the memorable gatherings that we had one day a week with other visual artist friends in a bar in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. With affection and admiration. It is inspired by the grass of the forest of the mountains where I do my daily walks and remembering a friend. This work is made of two parts is a diptych. They are separated and can be placed together or separated a little, as the collector's convenience. Each part measures 146 x 114 x 4 cm and together they measure 146 x 228 x 4 cm. They are shipped together in a crate.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
