Azure Hove 2 Print

In summer 2007, when I lived in a second floor flat over looking the beach near Marocco's cafe in Hove, UK, I looked out of the window to see the summer sun reflecting the chalk that lies under the sea, giving it this pale turquoise luminescence. This is my second attempt to capture the serenity of the layers of colour, and it wont be my last! This time I used a palette knife and slabs of acrylic. I used a length of cotton thread to mark the horizon, and I liked it since there was i nreal life a very thin pink line just under the horizon. So I painted the threat in using clear acrylic. You can see it if you look very hard! The turquiose colour never comes out well in reporductions or computer monitors, either too yellow or too blue (as it looks to me on my screen now).
