Barrier Print

A contemporary conceptual fusion of fine oil paints and sand describing contradictions between ourselves as Africans and things around us It describes a contradiction between certain factors and aspects of life, the barrier between a male and female, two males, love, hope and pain. Importance of the atmospheric conditions to different life forms, barrier between where we are and where we want to be. But we have to be patient, we have to be calm and allow ourselves flow with the process, allow the growth to happen, we need to walk the path with bare feet to enable us know and understand what the struggle feels like with trousers folded and sleeves rolled we are ready to cross the barrier. Poem It has become a barrier with no bridge Like a boundary created with knob ridge And color a carrier of seperation Also a barrier of "black" nation We were the longest to walk bare feet Feeling the sand on the African soil Then we had to bear defeat With civilization in exchange of black oil Just as the umbrella provides protection Which the flower doesn't require to survive There is a barrier between their intention Because it needs the rain to keep it alive
