Beach Huts Print

The geometric similarity of the line of beach huts in the sand on a beach in Lincolnshire, UK inspired this acrylic print transfer of a black and white photograph in neon pink and blue to give an unusual, rather abstract representation of a beach seascape, making it a surreal landscape. The style is designed to highlight the cold lines and create the opposite sensation from what was really there; it takes a warm family seaside moment at beach huts and somehow recreates it as a discordant note, but also makes it difficult not to notice these buildings, which are just falling into ruin despite their perfect geometric lines. I hope my viewers will see the encroaching ruin under the grandeur of many of our lovely under funded seascapes, from this simple scene from daily summer life.
