Original oil painting, handmade artwork, one of a kind. The painting “Boats in Agios Nicholas” is one of the most successful of the series of paintings devoted to my concept “The Idea of the Mediterranean Spirit”. It was demonstrated at various exhibitions, several times published in albums and magazines. A fragment from the album “The Idea of the Mediterranean Spirit or the Neo-Impressionism of Anatoly Tartakovsky” will help to better understand and feel the artistic intent of the picture: “In 1997, after many years of seclusion in the workshop, I found myself in the orbit of the sun, sea and sky, among the Adriatic islands, where beautiful nature revealed itself in the purest and most harmonious colors. Fortresses of ancient cities, lush greenery, white yachts ... With passion I set about creating a series of paintings from nature, filling them with the energy of life surrounding me. Having forgotten about reason, with my eyes and heart I comprehended the highest manifestations of the divine in nature, transforming them into painting, and these feelings petrified in the colors on the canvas. Nature was merciful to me. More than once during the solemn moments of inspiration, I heard her breath... Soon, I painted landscapes in other Mediterranean countries that were just as beautiful, with their own special charm and unique spirit: France, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Croatia, Monte Negro, Tunisia, Cyprus, Italy, Egypt, Bulgaria and Spain. Then the grandiose idea ripened to paint landscapes in all countries of the Mediterranean and create in the colors a single aura of the Mediterranean spirit, expressing in it the quintessence of history, mythology and love. A giant task, almost impossible, but what a tempting one! Years passed, paintings were written, each of which became a fragment of a large Mediterranean epic.” For my paintings, I use oil paints and linen canvases of the best world companies so that they are perfectly preserved forever.
