About The Artwork

WW I was famous for the mud. Many became ill with all sorts of infections and diseases. I won't go into the details. How these men managed to cope with the terrible conditions they were forced to live in and then go over the top and walk towards the German lines I'll never know. Yes they were instructed to walk and not group together. But how could they not group together when there was hundreds of em. They were sitting ducks for the German machine guns, that had a range of upto 3,000 yards. It was suicide. The British Generals at the time should have be arrested, court martialed and shot. But of course, because they were from so called "high class families" that never ever happened. Even now to this day, the UK Govt has many so called "high class" MP's and Lords ruling the UK as if the public were docile idiots who could be fooled and lied to time and time again. So when I painted this picture it was to help in my own little way that those men and their bravery were not forgotten. It all happend 100 years ago, and no doubt they will fade into history, but at least this painting of mine is helping to slow that process down a bit. Kind regards to you all - Chris

I was born in the very beautiful town called Llandudno in North Wales. It's just across the Conway River were stands a huge 1,000 year old Norman Castle. The scenery is spectacular to say the least I grew up in Liverpool and worked there in engineering as a teenager and young man. I then moved to The Wirral and lived there for over ten years About 16 years ago I bought an incredible apartment here in Thailand and started a family. I now have two children aged nine and eleven. We have a big UK style bar restaurant here where everyone goes to socialise. There's lots of guys who work in the oil and gas industry. They're clever, witty and sociable. This is a very laid back fun lifestyle. Oh, and there's quite a few ex military guys. Oh and of course one or two gangsters. And that's just the expats. I'm retired, so I have lots of spare time, but now I've started painting again and that's been a labour of love. I don't take myself too seriously, and like to think I've a good sense of humour, and I hope that's reflected in my paintings. I do hope you like them, and then want to buy them ! Do leave a comment please. Something like "brilliant or superb" .... I'll be very happy with that !
