The lighthouse at the mouth of Biscayne Bay in Miami as it looked in the 1940's, before it was painted it's current white. This painting is inspired by the work of Tripp Harrison. Painted on premium gallery-wrapped, 2-inch thick stretched canvas, including sides, giving the work a 3-dimensional effect. This is one of the best paintings I have done, though I doubt it will be seen or appreciated online.

I am interested in the interplay of color, focus, depth, and form when I choose a subject to paint. But it is the process of pushing the boundaries of light and depth to create an emotional response brought on by profound beauty. Sometimes it's in the smallest detail, or perhaps the darkest corner - my goal is to make art that shows emotion.
