Eva Hunter is a native of Syracuse, NY and a professional artist since 2012. After high school, she traveled to Colorado where the beautiful mountains and red rocks of the landscape made her soul sing and inspired her art. Eventually returning home to Syracuse, (where the snow makes her toes tingle) she continued her self studies and explorations in art techniques. In 2015 Eva quit her full time job to pursue an art degree. She's never looked back. Creating art is what she loves and she delights in sharing her talents. To be quite frank, art has been a part of Eva's life since she was a little girl. Back in the day you could usually find her quietly drawing and painting. An introvert at heart, art has given color to Eva's voice and the freedom to express herself. As an artist Eva loves to use a variety of techniques and styles. It’s not for her to only use one medium or to repeat the same conversation. There’s so much to say! Exploring and testing the ‘rules’, and challenging her skills is what drives her passion. The unexpected bit of whimsy and humor in Eva's art is a reflection of the shy, quiet self sharing a moment of bravery with the world. Eva is interested in painting stories that remind us of childhood adventures. Combining real and imaginary characters in playful settings invites viewers to participate in the story. Creating art in a variety of mediums and techniques keeps her imagination running wild; just the way she likes it to be. Eva enjoys challenging herself to learn and grow as an artist. In addition to painting, she creates jewelry and accessories for men and women, hand dye silk, and creates illuminated willow sculptures.
