Churchill, love him or hate him he was a man of his time, he dragged his Country through its darkest hours. He was one of the most important leaders of the twentieth century. He was not just a war time leader he was a pioneer in health care,education,and social welfare. I wanted to paint churchill and spent many hours studying him and wanted to depict him as he really was someone who desperately loved his country and worked hard I think I've captured that in this painting, head down deep in concentration, smoking a cigar, stuck in to a very heavy workload and getting on with it.
