About The Artwork

Contemporary abstract painting by artist Doron Noyman entitled "City Life." Inspired by the Tears For Fears song, "Mad World," this joined canvas painting is an urban allegory. The hectic bustle continues day and night with faceless people moving about oblivious to others and to their environment, as though in the dark. In the bottom canvas a person sits alone on a bench observing the scene around him, seeing but unseen by the faceless people racing by. "All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere And their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you 'Cause I find it hard to take When people run in circles It's a very, very Mad world"
