The work belongs to the painting series ‘Natural & Instinctive’, dedicated to the symbolic and allegorical visualization of vitality as the fundamental basis for the existence of all living things. The vertically divided square combines a stylized image of a lobster (to the right) and the ornamental vegetation (to the left). It is a succinctly encapsulated theme of the naturalness and power of instincts, which a person should never get rid of completely. The composition excites our physiology of senses, because the delicacy predator emits suppressed aggression and danger. Delicate emotions and gentle imagination are not expected here, the only thing that is important is the authenticity of biological survival. The internal dynamism of the image is ensured by the symmetry of the patterns on the proportional shell of the lobster and the movable curliness of the fabulous and possibly deadly plant portrayed on both sides. They also remind us about the playful nature of vitality and the unpredictability of stimuli or irritants that are not only nourishing, but can also bring pleasure. Uncompromisingly clear contrasting colors reject the unspoken and half-shadows, and instead of doubt they point to the inevitability of perception of one more goal as the ultimate motivation and condition of existence – the lobster, the unknown plant, and ourselves. My painting can evoke both short-term and long-term associations at any time of day or night. A thematic visualization in question will help to identify, quicken or slow down the incessant movement of your subconscious instincts, no matter where they are – in the office, in a restaurant or (why not!) in a bedroom.
