Crudos Mulieres is the accompanying painting to the avant-garde musical piece Crudos Mulieres. The word translates roughly to "The Gore of Women." It is inspired by the gruesome reality that women - both mothers and the childless - experience as a necessity of life. The artist created this piece while pregnant with her second child. In fact, she continued to work on it even after she went into labour, when she became inspired for the title.
