About The Artwork
I seem to be looking further, and further back, and have recently rediscovered Caravaggio. Obviously I am talking about influence, and not an attempt at recreating, an artist's work. I am a contemporary artist, with a great love of modern art, but like many of those that I admire, I also admire the art, that went even before those artists. The light of Caravaggio, is seen here as an inspiration, but also an awe, and interest in humanity, is shared. An interest, in people, what drives us, in not only the large ways, but also in the small ways, such as my daughter, here in this portrait, calm, lost in thought, in a maze of fantastical thoughts, that are hers.

My art has always been a celebration of life, from art school, to the present. They are about what I see, and feel. They are about the human condition, and a fascination, with a heroic struggle.
