Born in La Paz Bolivia. My work has constantly focused on interpreting nature, the continuous cycle of life and death, creation, the wonder of the universe, and lately, my disappointment caused by the destruction that our planet is suffering. Nature has been a recurring theme in my work for many years. I have included bottles and glass containers in the series of paintings I am currently working on because of their fragility and beauty. In this way, fragile glass containers acquire two meanings: the vessel floats in infinite space as our planet in the universe, and the second, they become tiny universes, wombs harboring life, seeds, fish, eggs, or plants. The fragility of our planet is reflected in the infinity and the fragility of the life that develops in it, and I call for its preservation and conservation. These vessels float in space, sometimes on ephemeral elements like dried fabrics or sheets. My palette of colors is varied; I work with high-contrast colors inspired by the beauty of nature and also to create more expressive force. flickr.com/photos/ceciliasart
