About The Artwork
This is the view west from the artists house, in Baan Maduawhan, Koh Phangan. It was a tranquil evening in the tropics mid 2020, as seen from the terrace of the artist's house, at dusk, a little while before the sunset. Being near the equator, the sun sets, fairly quickly. Dusk is a beautiful, and tranquil time anywhere. In the tropics, the tranquility is a good contrast to the sounds of the jungle, that follow, and that the closing of the day heralds. You see the artists garden, with the nearby coconut palms, and the jungle in the background. Some call it paradise. It certainly is to the artist, and this is painted with great affection.
