About The Artwork
I love ballet, a traditional performing art in my native country. I have painted countless ballerinas but none so daring like this one. The Miami City ballet was promoting the premiere of Stravinsky's Firebird and the material used for that purpose inspired me to do something a bit different. Most of the artwork is done with Prime Prismacolor colored pencils, worked with dissolvents and other advanced techniques that make it look like real paint. It is glued to a solid wood frame and protected by several layers of varnish to avoid future washouts.
