With painting Following The Sun XIII I continue exploring a sun as a main element but this time I add more texture with free brushstrokes and without system or theory I use colour purely as a process of intuitive decisions with one colour informing next. I don't set myself limits on the amount of colours I use however the structure of the shapes is considered. Following The Sun XIII is a part of series of abstract paintings. Ultimately, Following The Sun is my metaphor for the quest for inspiration: it is everywhere, yet it is impossible to reach. I am searching for the Sun through geometrical shapes and colours.

Art is my passion, it is my existence and essential part of me; it is a way of communicating, reflecting on my life experiences and the questions of meaning they bring. I construct my paintings layer by layer using exclusively oils. I believe that the texture I achieve with this technique gives deeper sensation of an object or a shape. In my abstracts, I largely work with just a few motifs that I manipulate and analyse, adding to my works some hidden symbols and allusions. This way, I want to show the complexity of interrelationships between my imagination, reality and its interpretation, in order to heighten the tension between the simplicity of forms and the complexity of ideas behind them. Through colour, I have sought to concentrate on beauty and happiness. Colour by its nature can be playful and there is perhaps a childlike quality to a lot of the geometry in my work. I have to say that colour is my main driving force. I apply colour using a variety of strokes: some are light while others are heavy or applied with more vigour. Also I like overlay roughly geometrical blocks, with additional textural elements - or heavy dobs of vibrant colours, my brushstroke never gets repetitive or predictable, its momentum and the shape define the organization of the painting.
