About The Artwork

Winter hours by Mary Oliver. As you walk in the woods at Winters end, you'll find, looking closely, the furl of the ferns. This is what inspired this painting. I am praying that the viewer will feel closer to nature, to Mary Olivers passion of the natural world. The subject matter is a monolithic furl of the fern to give it importance. When you look at nature you see the various patterns, beauty and splendor that is intertwined with everything.
