About The Artwork
Girl was painted in January 2020 and depicts a young girl staring into the world. The picture that formed the basis for this painting was found on internet and depicted this girl with chairman Mao. In this painting I got rid of all propaganda and only left the girl that I had then accompanied by all sorts of other pictures of things and people that I partially covered up with different colours. The end result being a collage but still focussing on the girl who seems to be aware of the context she is in but clearly does not understand it fully.
