ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I spend much of my time in the Canadian countryside experiencing much of the natural and man driven agricultural landscape and culture. So many great people in communities that give us grouchy city folk our sustenance. It is an interesting place to go for a walk and its always surprising to me that despite all the land being privately owned and literally being surrounded by growing food a singular walk can easily turn a bit unnerving. There is a strange feeling of isolation even on the brightest day. You wander through fields of dreams hearing nothing but the wind in the wheat or fifteen minutes and one will be surprised how welcome a group of cows could be.

My inspiration comes from the people, places, and issues I have experienced across the country and around the globe. When I'm exploring the world and it’s developments I paint. I was raised surrounded by creative opportunity. By the age of ten my art educator father and crafty mother ensured I had painted, weaved, potted, carved and sketched. I attended art courses and have been surrounded by critics, appraisers, auctioneers, consultants and artists my entire life. I've met A.Y. Jackson and have studied the Group of Seven's work up close and personal and was the creator of recreations of their work for an award winning documentary. I have completed a plethora creative projects during a colourful 30 years in professional communications, run a design studio written, directed, sketched, proofed and tracked across many media. My projects have included a number of pieces for private collectors, and has included work for globally released media projects.
