About The Artwork
"Happy Watermelon", another fruit image because of the memories of growing up. Such a great sweet treat waiting for us on the table. Nothing tasted better on a warm day after school, and the color just seemed to glow in the tiny kitchen. Enjoy my memories and I hope you might have some of your own. This is created as a painting on archival paper that the paper measures 11 1/2" x 18". I first used collage and paint to color my surface before choosing my subject matter. The base collage stimulate the subject idea I want to go for and this happened to be the watermelon slices. This would be classified as a mixed media painting using acrylic, collage paper, marker and a bit of pencil. I would reveal an area of 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" through the opening of a mat or frame. Had to title it "Happy Watermelon", it is just how I feel.
