Oil on wood 31x33x1cm (12.2x13x0.4in) 2015 This oil on wood artwork was originally painted to be exhibited during a lecture of E.A.Poe and H.P. Lovecraft novels in Vigevano, Italy. I painted it in 2015 using a gestural and expressive style from a well known black and white picture of E.A.Poe. The painting is now part of the series “Faces”. “Head of E.A.Poe” is a 31x33cm portrait. It is ready for delivery and accompanied by its original, unique certificate of authenticity.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
