This painting from the series 'Colorful Mindscapes' also called 'The realm of the colored mood' can be seen as a sort of prehistoric image of ships sailing; the adventure is about to begin, like the start of the journey of Jason and the Argonauts, or like the ships of the pharaoh that sail off the Nile as the sun rises. For myself it feels like the beginning of the discovery of new worlds waiting ahead of me, as long as I keep moving. This is a personal story of the voyage to the North – my soul is, inevitable, always creeping into my paintings. Because paintings are often not about just paint on canvas, getting to know my art is getting to know me as a person. That implies also that the viewer or buyer allows him or her a renewed and inspiring view of him/herself. So please find your own story in this painting. Dated: 2017, signed and dated on the front. I put the paint on the canvas in active gestures, like I'm dancing. The colors form a festive harmony as if you can hear them. While painting I often feel like making a symphony with colors (color accords) and lines (rithms) acting together. I also search for the natural look of a moment in eternity, as if it is a structure that grew and matured. My current paintings have the umbrella title; 'Colorful Mindscapes', because they tell about the realm of my colored feelings. They are about my inner life, about adventurous or subdued moods that have nested in my person. These canvasses are not paintings, these are adventures. Exciting adventures for me as an artist, but also adventurous to the spectator. There is so much happening! These are worlds in which I exist, realities built in paint and consciousness. A personal cosmos, in which the mind can wander and the eye is wondering. I can hardly be happier than when I'm working on these paintings, even though I'm doing the whole range of moods while working. It is remarkable how important it is in my life to be involved with this. My hope now is to tempt the spectator with my colors, energy and dancing gestures. Can they feel my adventure?
