How do I know this is a genuine Helene Schjerfbeck self portrait? Because I painted it myself, that´s why! If I see an unobtainable painting I hugely admire, my only method to acquire it on my wall is to paint my own version of it. I hugely admire Helene Schjerfbeck. Not only as one of the greatest Finnish painters ever, but one of the greatest female painters ever! One of the greatest painters ever. Period. My subjects are iconic people / topics that have had an impact on me or our society. The painting is signed on the back and has my “e” symbol on the front.
