A look back at a special moment from last summer's trip to the West Coast of the United States. We rejuvenated ourselves in the magnificent Japanese garden of Portland. A soothing, serene place where everything is in harmony.. a beautiful green setting on the heights of the city. I sometimes think back to this enchanted moment. I took more than a hundred pictures, along the small paths that criss-cross the garden……. one of them was taken at the entrance of the art gallery "Pavilion", a beautiful wooden building used for art exhibitions and special events. Inside, beautiful paintings, art reproductions, objects. a store with quality items. On the other side of the building, after the exit, an esplanade offering a splendid view on the city below. I was inspired by this photo for this painting, it allowed me to escape and find myself in thought in this beautiful place.

I discovered watercolor as an adult. The watercolor allows me to express the brightness, the intensity of the colors of nature. It is a medium that allows a great diversity in the choice of subjects as well as the techniques used. It allows a painting all in transparency and subtlety. My main source of inspiration is nature, landscapes, mountains. All the beautiful places I meet can combine in my mind and a new landscape is born out of all the different images I have in mind. Sometimes my watercolors mix with my photographs, a new universe appears, tinged with realism and imagination.
