About The Artwork
I was inspired by the situation in Aceh Province, Indonesia where the Aceh local government seems like deceiving its own people for the benefit of certain group. This situation was totally different during the colonial era. An Aceh leader, Teuku Umar (the people call him with John The Hero) used his wiles to fight the invaders for sake of his people. I am waiting the time where this such hero reborn. This whole painting is an oil on canvas work although a small piece of newspaper attached.
