About The Artwork
The inspiration for this painting came to me while watching a wonderful movie by Ghibli Studio called "Kaguya Hime No Monogatari" I'm a big fan of anime and Japanese culture and naturally Sakura is one of the first associations that come to mind when you think of this beautiful country. So I decided to paint this beautiful tree in bloom... Original encaustic painting on 40*40 cm canvas board. Medium: acrylic, oil pastel, wax. The multiple layers of wax, oil pastels and oil create depth and subtle colour vibrations. Signed on the front and back. The painting is sold unframed. Shipped in a cardboard box.
