About The Artwork
2006. Inspired by an illustration in an old hydrography report of Royat in the Auvergne, in central France. A friend who bought an old house in Normandy to renovate offered me a bunch of books she had found in the house, among them this report on the hydrography of Royat, illustrated with beautiful engravings. There was also some fabulous gray paper with deckled edges which I glady took off her hands. The original of this work is painted on a sheet of that paper.
