About The Artwork

Waking up to this view, one is in heaven! Camping out by the river he loved to be alone with nature. It was so peaceful with only the sweet song of the birds disturbing the silence… The water was fresh, clean and cold! The artist has portrayed this beautiful scenery in dark shades of green and a lighter blue… lovely! 40693-LA-IDF

Inaje Dilshan Fernando is an artist born to a family living in a fishing environment near the west coast of Sri Lanka. His paintings are inspired by the art of Impressionism and are often associated with outdoor scenes, seascapes and still life with traditional fishing gear in Sri Lanka. Although his styles are subject to a variety of themes, his landscape paintings which are deliberately removed from human or animal figures, and the paintings of immovable still objects selected from his traditional fishing environment are unique. He was a student of Vibhavi Academy of Sri Lanka which paved the way to sharpen his already brilliant skills. He is an expert in painting, sculpture, life paintings, etc. and has won numerous awards for his caricature drawings and paintings. He has done caricature work of many famous personnel from the graphite pencil. According to Dilshan, drawing a caricature of the face is one of the most difficult parts of graphic humor, while it should be exaggerated in the face, but it should not diminish the similarity of the work. In the works of some artists, this resemblance goes so far as to jokingly say the person himself is closer.
