After graduating from the Burnley School of Art and Design/Seattle Art Institute, Ron moved to a career in business. A long time marketing executive for both Weyerhaeuser Company and Westin Hotels & Resorts, Ron had an extensive career that took him to all parts of the world. While traveling, Ron pursued his hobby of photography, and his photographs have been featured on covers of travel-related magazines and in advertisements and promotional literature. Throughout his career, Ron continued to further his interest in watercolors and mixed media. His early paintings were displayed in the Frye and Seattle Art Museums and hung in corporate headquarters of Weyerhaeuser, AIRCOA Hospitality Services, Westin Hotels & Resorts, The Ilikai Resort in Honolulu, and The Maui Connection. His paintings have been shown in New York, Chicago, Denver, Vail, Scottsdale, San Diego, Malibu, Maui, Madison, Tucson, Everett, Edmonds and Ocean Shores. In recent years, his works have appeared in juried shows in Ocean Shores, Edmonds, Seattle, Bellevue, Kenmore and Tucson. How Ron describes his work: “I’ve never had a desire to lock into one consistent and recognizable style. I like to approach each composition with mediums I feel comfortable with and styles that give subject matter a particular individuality.”
