About The Artwork

The negative attitude of parents towards the girl child and her education is one of the major reasons of low female literacy rate in India. In most of the families, boys at home are given priority in terms of education but girls are not treated in the same way. Right from the beginning, parents do not consider girls as earning members of their family, as after marriage they have to leave their parents’ home. So their education is just considered as a wastage of money as well as time. For this reason, parents prefer to send boys to schools but not girls.

Born in 1979 in Ladkhed, Yavatmal district in Maharashtra and currently leaving in Pune. Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from Nagpur University, Nagpur, and also done Art Teacher Diploma in Mumbai Board. My paintings are the voice of my heart. Hence, whatever you see in these paintings are my feelings and thoughts. I seek inspiration from the nature — which is the base for most of my paintings. I observe shapes from the nature and incorporate them in my paintings. Often my paintings are based on social, cultural and spiritual subjects like save girl child, education and global warming. Through my paintings, I have tried to express the various social topics that's a challenge for our society's well being and development. The colors and the canvas are my medium to reflect on these topics and in a way they mirror my emotions and thoughts. I believe in the saying 'An artist is the one who holds mirror to the society' and I am taking this quote a step forward by not just bringing some key topics to limelight but also channelizing my art to start awareness and harmony around these topics. Every canvas stores a unique message for our society.
