About The Artwork
My goal is to paint artworks that move people. A mother lovingly kissing her child is a very inspirational subject matter to me, more so with Mary and her baby Jesus. For this painting, I especially loved working on the child’s eyes in order for the viewer to feel the unspoken message of Jesus. I chose oil on canvas because of the archival quality of the medium, especially apt for religious subject matters. The style is realism with a touch of contemporary rather than classical, that is suitable for current times. I hope and pray that whoever gazes at the painting may be so blessed.
