"In one of my drawings there is a girl looking up at someone holding her face with her left hand. That drawing, for me, is very interesting because it arises from this problem. I started watching porn - he laughs loudly -. That girl is in a video. I was looking for the codes that work in this genre and in the critique of male, patriarchal porn and submission in this relationship. All this fiction and the relationships that can be intuited, that are not so obvious but that are there, or that the director of photography is very clear about, because he sees that these gestures are key. And in this case, she was a pretty, beautiful girl and she's in some hardcore porn videos. I downloaded that video and I started to watch it and went through it frame by frame, looking for that gesture, and I found her face. What I like about that expression is that it has something almost angelic, of total redemption, and that light, like sacred, holy, but in a context that comes from porn:the guy cums on her face. However, it has this thing. People say of this watercolour that it's purity incarnate. It has this duality and not being able to understand the relationships that happen behind that script. Things like this make me reflect on this search in porn, what is it that awakens in people this image? In fact, in this total image she is naked, with big tits, but if you zoom in on just his face and hand, it's a super powerful image in itself that can be decontextualised from the other. There are people who can see what's there, but never imagine where it comes from. I have a comment from a woman from Chile on Instagram who says to me "how beautiful this image and all that it transmits and the purity" and she signs X psychologist, as if legitimising her reading. It's not that this was a joke, the interesting thing here is that it could be both." excerpt of the interview for trampolin magazine berlin.
