Mistakes. Difficulties. Disagreement. This is all found in the life course of every person in adolescence. The trials we face help us build our character and become stronger morally. This work of art conveys to the reader how society influences a young person in the years of adolescence. Three separate canvases of different sizes are combined into a single composition to create the effect of the diversity of one person. The rear canvas depicts only a vague silhouette of a person entering life. At the time of writing, the lyrics were strongly influenced by the lyrics of the song “Walking On cars” by Speeding Cars, so I decided to include it in the composition using a contrasting red and scarlet color. A small canvas with the image of a hand with a smoking cigarette reveals all the lostness and despair from the pressure of society. I decided to paint the background completely black to show the darkness and emptiness around, adding barely noticeable strips scratched with a knife to convey this state of pain. Mediumsized canvas depicts the face of Mattew Clavene, who became the inspiration for this project. His eyes can tell all about his life, and the tangled lines in the background are a symbolic repetition of cigarette smoke and that intricate maze of life that almost every teenager needs to go through. Origami red crane represents the hope and way out of the most difficult situation. Thus, the picture shows not only the existence of difficulties in the life of an emerging personality but also the fact that one must always go ahead and fight, then it will be possible to find a way out.
