About The Artwork
Reflections upon the Puget Sound in Seattle, WA, created the inspiration for this painting. The sea and sky blend together in the misty morning. The water has a sense of motion with vivid brushstrokes, dispersed paint, and the splatter of sea foam. In the sky, a cloud mimics the motion below. The "Sunrise Series", a series the artist began in January 2016. She would wake up to watch the sunrise then return to her studio to paint what she had just witnessed. The colors she chose were inspired by the Pantone color of the year Rose Quartz and Serenity. For the first time, there were two colors chosen and she wanted to highlight this in her art.
