Memory of Nature #9 Print

In my paintings, I address the motive of reminiscence drive from ordinary scene through abstract recreation. By recollecting natural environments by the means of abstract, repetition and landscape my desires are recreated into a subjective scenery including the ‘Reminiscent Fragment’. The fragments consist of the botanical memory from the past and space. I portray ‘the mental scenery’ to depict the moment of contemplation. I intend to visually distinguish the scenery of a past scenery and a desired landscape with an abstract fragment of the flows of water and a hint of nature symbolizing the present. My works developed to capture the moment of meditation in daily life to depict this mental scenery. I intend to recreate the multiple states in between from ordinary scene to meditation and sentimental reminiscence by transitioning from apparent figure to an abstract and poetic expression. With my work representing the relationship between meditation and physical space, I would like the viewers to share the moment and evoke personal recollections.
