Ksenia Poncet, Russian-French artist. Born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, she spent half of her life in France. She is currently living and working in New York, USA. With her paintings, Ksenia Poncet is trying to build a bridge between her original Russian culture and her French identity. She is attempting to bring the country of her childhood and her adopted country closer together, on the border of both worlds. To do this, she blends multiple techniques of drawing and painting, using elements of symbolism and of pop art with a slightly ironic nod to Soviet realism. She keeps a tight link with Russian popular culture, introducing in her works floral motifs inspired by Khokhloma.
