About The Artwork

I got inspired by the vintage mirror and the loneliness I had in my teen years. It was a period when I was feeling anti-social, outsider and all the time I was asking myself thousands of questions to understand myself, analyze my thoughts, ideas, behavior, actions, fears and why I'm different and lonely . I consider that all of us have times when we want to stay alone with ourselves and analyze everything, when we seek for answers, when we need to recollect our thoughts, accept our feelings and emotions and understand them and just simply stop for a while and take a look on our life and ourselves and think. I chose oil because it helps me to transfer completely the ideas I have, make the work long-lasting.

Hi, I'm Armine, linguist and artist, born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia passionate about learning different cultures. Studying different cultures enriches my worldview, cause every culture is the perception of the same thing otherwise. And now about art. Inheriting skills from my father art has always been with me, part of my nature. Within years experiments have grown. I continue to study, to research, to experiment, truly brainstorming, no limitation of creativity of mind. Having been self-taught Artist I decided to take art lessons to learn the basics professionally juggling with my studies in Linguistics, and after I earned my degree in Linguistics I decided to continue my studies in Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, MA in painting. In 2020 I did my first group exhibition. Took part in charity program to help to recover consequences of Artsakh war donating one of my paintings and received certificate of gratitude. My works are included in some private collections. Inheriting skills from my father I got my first influence and inspiration from him. I love all art movements find them interesting full of ideology, symbolism and message. As an Armenian at first I started discovering, examining our prominent, national artists, from whom I would like to mention Hakob Hakobyan, Vardges Sureniants, Hrachya Qochar, Hakob Kojoyan, Martiros Sarian, Arshile Gorky, Minas, Hovhannes Ayvazovsky and numerous foreign Artists as representatives of different times and art movements. My favorites are so many that counting them will take a long time hence, the list is huge, as I mentioned I appreciate all movements. I started from pencil/coal/sepia/sanguine/ drawing on paper, watercolor and then gouache and oil. But most of all I prefer oil on canvas. It is long-lasting and it helps me to transfer my ideas in a complete way. The biggest inspiration for me is life, phenomena of life, human nature. There is so much still to discover, unveil, especially human potential. I have a long path to go, it is only the beginning...
