Hi, I am Natalie, an artist based in Athens, Greece, where I was born and raised. From a young age, my fascination with art was evident, as I spent countless hours sketching, painting, and experimenting with various mediums. My passion for art led me to pursue a degree in Fine and Applied Arts, that not only provided me with invaluable knowledge of art history and theory, but also broadened my horizons, allowing me to explore a multitude of artistic mediums and techniques. Throughout my career, I've been drawn to a diverse range of artistic expressions. I've ventured into the world of installations, creating immersive experiences that challenged conventional boundaries and allowed me to push the envelope of artistic possibilities, blurring the line between art and reality. In recent years, I've shifted my focus to painting, where I've discovered a deeply fulfilling avenue for self-expression, particularly through the creation of captivating portraits. Each portrait I paint is a unique exploration of the human spirit, capturing the essence of the subject's emotions and character. Portraits provide me with an intimate way to connect with people and to express the depth of human experience through the stroke of a brush, charcoal, or pencil. In my work, I strive to encapsulate and portray a diverse array of emotional and expressive subjects using contemporary portraiture. My approach merges figurative realism with abstract and minimalistic elements, resulting in a compelling juxtaposition. I aim to draw out the utmost expression from my subjects, even in cases where facial features may be limited or obscured. My main goal is to forge an intimate bond between the subject and the viewer through an image that engages the viewer on a deeply personal level. I aspire to create visual compositions that not only resonate with the audience but also elicit an intimate connection, allowing viewers to interpret and relate the artwork to their own emotional experiences.
