About The Artwork
This mixed media work is largely made with oil and enamel paints on highly textured canvas with assorted lace fabric mounted to it, and it employs a dot pattern design. It is on gallery wrapped stretched canvas and the edges are painted. It is wired and ready to hang. This work also has a very high gloss epoxy resin finish. All shipping calculations are based on dimensional weight, not actual weight. This work was featured in a retrospective exhibition in March-May 2018 at the Coral Springs Museum of Art.

Al was born in Providence, Rhode Island, USA in 1954. He moved to South Florida in 1979 where he currently resides. ARTIST STATEMENT: Whether I am painting representational pictures or something purely abstract, I want the surface to be energetic and active enough to pull the viewer closer like a magnet. When I paint images my need to understand who I am as a person and the dynamics of the world around me is revealed in some expressive manner. When my work is abstract, I enter a subconscious world where expressive movement and color guide each gesture and shape to completion, and its essence seems to be captured from an endless sea of electronic impulses.
