Peonies -My favorite flowers are peonies. Layered, fluffy and papery, I love their form, texture and volume. “In my mind, no other flower can compete with the perfection and the fragrance of the Peony." The silky petals, delicate shape, romantic shades and graceful foliage make this flower all time favorite and I’m not alone. Brides plan their wedding dates around peony season. Flower enthusiasts plant them all through their gardens. Just not that - The feminity and affection, the bashfull ness of peonies represents a strong character, as well as leaving a strong influence to anyone who sees it. For weeks I kept buying peonies for my studio so that I can observe their growth and bloom. I was totally mesmerized by the way they changed their colour while blooming . and one day I decided to paint them. Before I could start the large painting. I made few watercolour sketches so I can see the colour behavior on my sketch book vs bloom in real. In this process I totally fell in love with pink and magenta which I have never wore before - hardly ever used on my canvases. I never thought I would ever love Magenta pink - purple or peony and now when It has changed, I don't think I will trade them for anything else. Just like the real one - peonies on my canvas are painted with palette knives, layered , fluffy and textured and I love their form, shape and volume. It also has a bit of 3d effect due to the texture if you looks from an angle. Painting can be hung horizontally as well - for reference, please see the interior image. The artwork has been protected with UV varnish . Sides and edges are painted/extended as part of the painting. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor Interior photos that are displayed are for reference, may not be SCALE. Signed in the front, as well as a certificate of authenticity signed by myself.
