ABOUT THE ARTWORK
You can read this painting in several ways. Some might see a hill, some might see a clearing in a forest, hopefully you can see the figures on the left. The figures are sat huddled round a table, playing a game. The strange forest around them seems ghostly but familiar somehow. This is one of my favourite paintings in this last year.

There is a sense of something ending or softening, a dying light, the end of a summers day or something slipping out of reach. I have an interest in finding imagery through a random, sometimes destructive process. I search for hints and suggestions which emerge through this often playful technique.
