About The Artwork

I had the opportunity to present my work at The Other Art Fair in Dallas,TX 2023 to the amazing group "Black Girls in Art Spaces." The support, enthusiasm and encouragement I received from these beautiful group of creatives inspired me to recreate a painting from a photo I took of them. The original photo had my art in front of them, but they themselves ARE the art. I completed the figures in oil paint, but the green background was painted with the Standard Body Glenneyre Green paint from tomorrowsartist, a Laguna-Beach based company committed to recycling wasted materials into paint for artists of all practices and mediums.

I am an Afro-Filipina visual artist interested in representing members of my own community through creative means. While attending Laguna College of Art and Design, I have been trained with both traditional and digital mediums. My artwork explores the humanism of BIPOC, my identity and the relationship between these truths. I intend for my work to raise discussion on social, racial, and cultural inequality through the use and re-appropriation of traditional European techniques.
