About The Artwork

If we could scribble our journey down unto notepads or smudge graphites on sketchpads, how would it look? before i attempted any form of painting, i drew comic figures-sport characters-a lot. I had a "40 leaves" notebook and a 2b pencil with which I told very skewed stories with that everything went according to how i wanted it, it was my story to create anyway. Then as circumstances got serious and challenging in reality, sketched my biases as if to alter things. This painting has mimicked a page on one of those worn-out notepads; however without the biases. The next few paintings I suspect would stem from these notes.

Jesutofunmi Ogidan is a visual artist born in Ilesa, Osun State. He is a multidisciplinary Visual artist who has always been curious to ask questions that are deemed uncomfortable in his generation. He holds a Bachelor's in Marine Science and Technology from the Federal University of Technology Akure. Jesutofunmi attempts to capture the plight of millennials in a fast-moving subjective world as it relates to history/historical events/phenomena repeating itself as though in a cycle. He expresses his art predominantly with Acrylics and oil paints, deliberately reflecting specific experiences and emotions. With his art, he attempts to relate the repetitive nature of human experiences to historical cycles and paint a glimmer of hope.
