I was raised with a rural influence which included farm animals the first 6 years of my life and then later as an adult found myself immersed in nature and wildlife in the Northern British Columbia community of Alert Bay. My personal goals include setting challenges to break rules, experiment with colour combinations and to try new compositions and “just never settle”. I achieve this by applying to juried shows to compete amongst my peers. I have been honoured with over 20 awards in 12 years. One of many goals still in this artists bucket list, is to produce a number of childrens books in which I will put my previous training as an ECE teacher to good use while continuing to develop my painting practice. Janice has shown her work both Nationally and Internationally. Her work is to be found in a number of Private and Corporate Collections. She has been thrilled to be part of 2 travelling group exhibitions touring Ontario institutions including McMichael Art Gallery .Janice was Poster Artist for the Royal Winter Fair in 2015 . She is a proud member of the Ontario Society of Artists, The Colour and Form Society and Southern Ontario Visual Artists.
