About The Artwork

Portrait of famous tattoo on upper arm of Guns n Roses frontman and consummate rockstar Axl Rose! Painted in many thick impasto layers of paint--a real story and personal history under that shiny appealing surface!-- on a piece of archival museum grade cotton mat board. Feels like thin wood panel with all the layers of paint on it by now. From my decade+ in Los Angeles. Cool, seductive and powerful high-impact portrait of the tattoo as it distorts over Axl's arm while performing live. From a series of icon portraits, but not the usual subjects matter and style. Get this up on your wall fast! Because it will be a superstar of your collection and interior personality! NOTE: to keep shipping costs down, this is shipped UNFRAMED (I have a photograph of the painting framed and hung for illustration purposes). That frame is a large and heavy used wood frame painted a think glossy white, whcich looks cool. Black frame look best in my opinion. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!

Things, not pictures of things. Talismans, Portals, Offerings. As an American living and making art in Japan, the opposing worlds of Past and Present, West and East, Fact and Fiction blend. This work takes shape at those intersections of real and imagined, lived and dreamed, recalled and fabricated. The work exists in the gap between actual events and memory imagined, created, distorted, magnified and buried. ---
