I'm always inspired by the way children play on the beach. I live a couple of blocks from the beach in Florida, where there are a never ending number of little kids playing in the sand. They are a great inspiration to my art. This little boy found a wonderful way to spend the day - working on his sand castle.

Mary Hubley creates impressionistic oil paintings of quiet moments in nature. She paints the world in its many nuances of light, shadow, and mist, and a single magic moment of atmospheric change. Her work is often described as soft and optimistic. Hubley spent years doing corporate illustration and writing for RCA Corp, book publishers, and advertising agencies, and draws upon that background for her painting. Her illustrations appear in corporate ads, video productions, websites, books, and magazines. She now does oil painting full time in her Florida studio. Hubley has been showing her oil paintings for the past 20 years in prominent art galleries. Honors include first place in a Smithsonian Institution WaterWays exhibit, national and international awards with the American Impressionist Societ (AIS), National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS) and Richeson75 International, and inclusion in prestigious national shows with the Oil Painters of America (OPA), NOAPS, AIS, and Boldbrush.
