ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Like Shattered Nude 1, I experimented with layers of paint separated by layers of tape and then removed the tape to highlight the history of my artmaking process. Metallic paint, acrylic paint markers, and a partially visible prior painting beneath make for a dynamic piece that contrasts the serene posture and expression of the figure. The sides of this painting are painted as an extension of the painting.
